Representatives of Google AdSense have announced enhancements made to responsive ad units. Users will see them expanded to the full-width of the smartphone display.
Research findings show that such ads can be made the most use of with the vertically oriented device. They are more efficient when used in such a format.
The function of full-width responsive ads can be disabled by adding a responsive ad tag parameter. However, developers do not recommend doing it as the revenues can shrink.
